Below is an interactive map I created to map out the 53 stations of the Tokaido (East Sea Road) in Japan. The map is designed to highlight a suitable route if the walk were to be completed in modern Japan.
Tableau and WordPress were not playing ball in regards to embedding the map onto this post, so the image below links to the map being hosted on Tableau publc.
Note: Some points of interest (Kamakura) were added, as well as the popular end destinations of Kyoto and Osaka. The destinations on the map are not the exact locations of the 53 stations as they existed during Edo period, mainly because some no longer exist, but highlight 53 suggested stopping locations along the Tokaido route.
